A lot has changed for all of us over the last few months, one of the biggest being the way we work. With stay at home orders issued worldwide, we have had to tackle the challenges that come with working from home. As we navigate this new normal, one central question comes to mind.
Is the impact of COVID-19 and working from home the same across cultures?
Without question, the answer is no, we do not have the same experiences or leverage this in the same way.
COVID-19 has of course increased our overall anxiety and stress levels and recreates a VUCA world of Volatility, Uncertainty, Change and Ambiguity. Within our teams the level of communication has changed with video conferencing replacing coveted face to face interactions which can result in more nervous stakeholders.
What we see as the impact of COVID-19 can be an erosion of leadership, but it doesn't have to be.
